Wall & Deco wallpaper comes from Cervia in Italy, where the brand was founded in 2005 by advertising photographer Christian Benini. His idea was as simple as it was radical: away with the endless repetition of classic patterns, and in their place macro images and enlargements that let a wall speak as a single whole. Benini, still creative director today, discovered the decorative power of a large-format leaf motif he had once created as a photographic backdrop. Architects and interior designers were immediately captivated, and with that the brand rewrote the aesthetics of wall decoration. Wall & Deco wallpaper has since been about artistic composition rather than repeating pattern, printed with advanced digital technology. In 2018 the brand joined the Swedish Embellence Group, but its design and production remained Italian.
