Taraxa fabric from House of Hackney - an ode to botanical luxury
House of Hackney's Taraxa fabric captures the magic of nature in a refined, graphic pattern that will take your interior to the next level. This beautiful fabric is inspired by the elegant shapes of dandelion leaves and flower heads.
Taraxa's design features lush, stylized leaves and flower heads reminiscent of classic Art Nouveau motifs. The organic shapes come to life on a contrasting background, creating a dynamic play of lines and shapes.
Beautiful quality for long-lasting enjoyment
House of Hackney is renowned for its craftsmanship and high-quality materials. The Taraxa fabric is woven from a durable linen blend that is not only strong but also provides an elegant drape to curtains or upholstery.
This fabric is responsibly manufactured in Great Britain, with attention to people and the environment. This way you not only enjoy a beautiful interior, but you also contribute to a more sustainable world.
Perfect for an eclectic or classic interior.
Taraxa's botanical print can be perfectly mixed with other designs or plain fabrics. For example, combine with velvet for extra depth, or with natural materials such as wood and rattan for a warm whole.

Maintenance of curtain and furniture fabrics
Curtain fabric maintenance
To keep your curtains looking beautiful for a long time, regular and careful maintenance is important.
Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible, as this can cause discoloration over time. TIP! Make sure your curtains are lined; this protects the main fabric.
For light soiling, you can freshen up the fabric with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or excessive water. Always treat stains carefully and test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first.
Recommended maintenance products:
For curtain fabrics we recommend James products:
- James Interior Cleaner – suitable for both natural and synthetic fabrics. Ideal for freshening curtains without damaging the fiber structure.
- James Stain Wonder – helps remove stains, for example from contact or air pollution.
Apply the product to a white terrycloth towel, not directly onto the fabric, and dab gently. Let the fabric dry naturally, preferably out of direct sunlight.
Maintenance of furniture fabric
Furniture fabrics such as chair, sofa and cushion covers require regular care for a long life and a fresh appearance.
Vacuum the surface weekly with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt, hair, and dust. Rotate cushions regularly to prevent uneven wear and tear, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
In case of stains, it's important to act quickly: blot immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth (do not rub). For safe and effective cleaning, use James products, specially developed for upholstery fabrics:
- James Interior Cleaner – freshens furniture upholstery and removes light soiling without damaging the fibers.
- James Stain Wonder – ideal for removing stains caused by drinks, food remains or pets.
For a thorough cleaning or to remove stubborn stains, it's wise to have the fabric professionally cleaned. This will keep the fabric beautiful, supple, and fresh-colored.
