sassongher-stof-dedar
Sassongher fabric

Sassongher fabric by Dedar with planes like brushstrokes

Sassongher fabric consists of irregular planes that slide over one another, with frayed edges as if they were applied with a broad brush. Most shapes are rectangular and run from top to bottom. Here and there, a half arch or a small oval breaks that line. There is no recognisable figure, only rhythm and layering. That vertical direction gives a curtain or an upholstered wall panel length and calm. This jacquard by Dedar comes from Italy and asks to be viewed up close.

Texture and weave structure of the Dedar fabric

What carries the design is the variation in weave. Each plane has its own weave structure: a diagonal twill, horizontal ribs, a grainy surface reminiscent of bouclé and mélange dashes that break the light. As a result, the fabric changes with your viewing angle and with the daylight. Run your hand over it and you will feel the transitions between the planes. This keeps a calm color palette lively, because the relief does the work.

Colourways of Sassongher fabric

In Bianco Nero, off-white, light gray, mid gray and charcoal gray intermingle, with clear contrast between the light and dark planes. Avorio is tone-on-tone in cream, off-white and pale yellow. Here the pattern only appears when sheen and texture catch the light. There is also the colourway Amazzonia.
