The bark is drawn with small dark dashes, just like those you know from a birch, and the bare branches fan out across the full width. Nothing repeats: it is one continuous image. Behind the trunk, translucent leaf shapes float in washed fields of color, so the tree looms up rather than imposing itself.

Colours of Arboralis wallpaper: 01 and 02

The visual language is that of watercolour and gouache on grainy paper: you can see the paper texture and the soft transitions where color bleeds into color. Colour 01 is warm in tone, with cream and pale yellow at the edges, light blue-gray, a gray vertical band behind the trunk and mint green between the branches. Colour 02 is cooler and more subdued, in light and mid gray with a hint of light mint green at the sides. In both, the tree stands out in white to whitish gray, just slightly lighter than its surroundings.

Arboralis wallpaper by Wall & Deco in the bathroom

In the mood photo, the design hangs in a bathroom with concrete walls, a round freestanding bathtub and a black shower column. The raw concrete and the soft watercolour enhance each other, and through the large window the forest outside seems to continue onto the wall. A continuous image like this calls for one free wall without cupboards or paintings.
