Around reddish-brown tree trunks with curling branches you'll see a swan in a black boat on little wheels, a peacock with a fanned-out tail and female figures with a tree crown above their raised arms. Winged mermaids play the violin, a dragon breathes fire and a centaur with a bow and arrow pulls a checked sleigh. Winged orbs and tiny suns float in between. Look a little longer and you'll find a faun, a two-headed black dog and a stag-man with a drum.

Colours of Fairies and Dragons wallpaper

The figures are painted as if in an old manuscript, with the look of gouache and a subtle paper texture that gives the wall warmth. In Multicolor, reddish brown, green, orange, black, blue and golden yellow stand out against a cream-white background. Slate sets the same colours on a slate blue-grey, making the orange of the dragon and the green of the trees glow more vividly. The third colourway is Fir. The mood photo shows how a dark green background gives the scene an evening depth.

How Mind the Gap wallpaper works on your wall

The pattern repeats in rows side by side and one above the other, with figures of around 10 to 15 cm. Up close you can read each scene on its own; from the sofa it becomes a dense weave of colour. In the mood photo it holds its own next to a black-and-white chest of drawers, a palm and a spotted armchair.
