Piquey wallpaper: embroidered arch motifs with Art Deco rhythm and soft depth
Piquey wallpaper from the Mimbeau wallpaper collection has a pronounced graphic elegance. The design is built from repeating curved shapes that run across the wall like a rhythmic pattern. The layered arches and the refined “stitch” look create an effect that is both decorative and calm—a wall that adds character without taking over the room.
In the photo you can see how the pattern works with contrast: a deep, dark ground on which the arch lines light up in warm, golden tones. The shapes call to mind a refined Art Deco interpretation, but with a softer, textile-like finish. The result is rich, warm and perfect for giving a space more depth—especially in combination with wood, velvet and matte metals.
Curves embroidered design on non-woven backing
Piquey is a curves embroidered design on non-woven backing. That embroidered look provides a subtle relief and a tactile appearance: you can almost see the thread that draws the pattern. As a result, the wallpaper gains a luxurious, artisanal touch that responds beautifully to light—softly shimmering where the pattern “breaks” the wall, and deeper where the background remains calm.
