Artist fabric by Camengo: drawn lines, labyrinths and blocks

The Artist fabric by Camengo looks as if someone has gone over the canvas with pen and brush. You'll find continuous lines that form loops and rounded rectangles, a maze of perpendicular lines and small blocks scattered in loose rows across the fabric. The palette remains limited: olive green, dark green, sage green, sand and off-white. Everything is abstract, but nowhere rigid or mechanical. The lines tremble slightly, the blocks vary in size. As a result, the patterns retain something of a sketch, even across an entire armchair.

Patterns in the Artist fabric collection by Camengo

Bristol fabric is the line pattern: one white line that draws irregular loops and rounded rectangles, pictured here on an olive green armchair. You can see a similar interplay of lines in Harbourside fabric, where white lines crisscross a warm beige background and occasionally form a closed shape. Clifton fabric opts for perpendicular lines: a labyrinth in dark green, sage green and white, with relief. With Montpelier Hill fabric, small upright rectangles lie in loose rows over mottled off-white, sometimes two colours on top of each other, in dark green, grey-green and sand. Stokes Croft fabric works with curved shapes that overlap, in beige, sand and grey-green, with a hint of watercolour. Easton fabric is plain cream with a visible texture, the calm base among all those drawings.

Combining Artist fabric by Camengo in your interior

In the photos you can see how the patterns work together. The labyrinth of Clifton stands in front of a curtain with the blocks of Montpelier Hill, and that works because both share the same green and sand. Behind the armchair upholstered in Bristol hangs a white sheer curtain with a large line motif in beige. If you place a busy pattern next to a calmer pattern, the shared colours of this Camengo fabric hold everything together. Easton keeps larger areas calm.
