Diapason wallpaper collection Nobilis

Diapason wallpaper by Nobilis: walls of weave, plaster and cork

Diapason wallpaper by Nobilis is all about the surface of the wall. The patterns resemble weave, cracked plaster, cork, gouged wood or animal hide, and with one exception they are all abstract. In the mood images you see beige, greige and sand tones with lighter patches that run irregularly across the strip, without visible repetition. This makes you read the wall as a single plane rather than as a pattern. Where gold lustre is present in the pattern, the image changes with the light. Such a calm background gives space to what stands in front of it: a marble console, a pomegranate, a green glass roemer.

Patterns in the Diapason wallpaper collection

Corinthe wallpaper has a fine, horizontal weave structure in beige and off-white, with lighter patches running vertically across the wall. Flair wallpaper is more thread-like and reminiscent of grasscloth. The patches are more irregular and the sand-beige background has a gold lustre. Moon wallpaper takes a different direction, or actually none: a craquelé of hairline cracks and grey clouds, like cracked plaster. Cork III wallpaper combines cork with patina in gold, bronze and silver. Gouge wallpaper has relief like gouged wood, in shades from old gold to taupe. Mako wallpaper resembles an animal hide in metallic gold. Times wallpaper shows a design that appears and disappears across the strips. Kanagawa wallpaper is the only figurative pattern: a wave as in a Japanese print, on cork with a golden metallic background.

Diapason by Nobilis in your interior

The mood images show what works well against this Nobilis wallpaper: brass, black metal, marble and glass. Against the weave structure of Corinthe and Flair, dark objects stand out, such as a spiky vase or a black horse sculpture. The cool craquelé of Moon gains warmth from bronze, an olive-green bowl and a eucalyptus branch. Because the Diapason wallpaper itself remains calm, you can play with art and objects without the wall competing.
