Essential wallpaper collection Texam

Essential wallpaper by Texam: lines, layers and muted colours

Essential wallpaper by Texam is all about the wall as a surface: scratched lines, spotted plaster-like areas and shapes that shift semi-transparently over one another. The colours remain light and muted. Grey, beige, cream and lilac define the look, with the occasional deeper purple tone. Within that calm base, the scale varies widely. Some designs work as a fine pattern that you only really take in up close; others fill an entire wall with one large composition of leaves or geometric shapes. This means that within the same collection you can choose between a backdrop and an eye-catcher.

Patterns in the Essential wallpaper collection

The smallest pattern is Carved wallpaper: a grid of rectangles full of scratched lines, alternating vertically and horizontally, in light grey and beige with white. Scratch wallpaper also uses a rectangular grid, but with a slightly rough texture reminiscent of concrete or weathered plaster. In Plaster Art wallpaper fine stripes run horizontally; in Abstract wallpaper the lines move vertically in an organic pattern. The other four are larger in scale. Jungle wallpaper shows stylised palm and monstera leaves as flat shapes with a spotted texture, in lilac, beige and grey-green. Decosoul wallpaper layers circles, arcs, rectangles and triangles over one another, partly transparent, from purple to cream. Handwork wallpaper has large organic shapes in faded tones, like broad brush strokes. The title design, Essential wallpaper, stacks geometric planes in blue-grey, white-grey and stone.

Texam wallpaper for a calm wall or an eye-catcher

With Essential by Texam you match the wall to what is already in the room. The interiors in the photos keep returning to marble, brass, cognac-coloured leather and dark wood, materials that go well with the muted background. A line pattern lets a collection of ceramics or a striking chair remain the focus. If you choose a pattern with large leaves or shapes, the wall itself becomes the image and you keep the furnishings in front of it understated.
