Recueil fabric by Casamance: graphic lines and plain velvet

The Recueil fabric by Casamance places graphic patterns next to plain velvet and soft weaves. In the images you can see this in two very different spaces: an industrial interior with peeling plaster, brick and tall metal windows, and a living room with taupe panelled walls and herringbone parquet. Black with ecru, anthracite with silver and a deep ochre yellow define the palette. The line patterns are crisply drawn, often with elongated hexagons that continue in vertical bands. Set against these are fabrics without a pattern, which let the colour itself do the work.

Patterns in the Recueil fabric collection

In the photo, Parioli fabric upholsters an armchair with a bronze-coloured tubular frame: black with ecru zigzag lines forming connected hexagons, roughly a hand's width per repeat. Alma fabric hangs as a floor-length curtain in anthracite, with silver lines in vertical chains of large-scale hexagons. Dolce Vita fabric is plain velvet with a subtle sheen, shown here on an ochre yellow sofa. Apex fabric draws a labyrinth of interlocking zigzag lines in neutral tones. In Latitude fabric, diagonal bands in grey, beige and golden yellow cross like wickerwork. Chamarel fabric lays cloudy patches in pastel and grey-blue over a beige base. Calderas fabric weaves champagne, soft yellow and ivory together, with gold-coloured threads in between. Sarment fabric lets circles overlap on a light background. Kappa fabric completes the range.

Combining Casamance fabric in one interior

Because Parioli and Alma share the same hexagonal linework, you can combine them in one room without them clashing: small scale on a chair, large scale at the window. A plain velvet like Dolce Vita gives the eye a place to rest in between. Within the Recueil fabric collection, the contrast between a black-and-ecru pattern and ochre yellow velvet works just as well as a range of neutrals around anthracite and taupe.
