Forbidden City wallpaper by Coordonne: Chinese gardens, birds and pagodas

With Forbidden City wallpaper you bring Chinese landscapes and gardens into your home, drawn and painted in an illustrative style. Birds perch on flowering branches, herons stand at the water's edge and red pagodas appear among the trees. Some designs repeat as a pattern across the wall; others fill the entire wall with one panorama. The background also varies: cream white and light, or deep black. What unites the patterns of Forbidden City by Coordonne is their drawn character. You can see the brushwork and linework in the leaves, feathers and water.

Patterns in the Forbidden City wallpaper collection

Birds Prosperity wallpaper shows blue birds with yellow tails landing on winding branches with green leaves and yellow buds, on a cream white background. Xi Hu Lake wallpaper is a landscape that fills the whole wall: a snow-covered mountain, two red pagodas, ponds and egrets in muted olive green, beige and light blue. Darker is Ming Pagoda wallpaper, a toile-like scene of cranes, koi carp, weeping willows and bridges in beige and grey-gold on black. Heron's Poetry wallpaper places herons by a lake with mountains behind them, while Willow Poem wallpaper centres on willow branches on a stone-like background. Blossom can be found in Yu Garden wallpaper and in the watercolour-like flowers of Spring Festival wallpaper. The birds return in Imperial Ibis wallpaper with cranes, and in Sacred Pheasants wallpaper and Crowned Crane wallpaper.

Forbidden City by Coordonne in your space

In the lifestyle images you can see how differently the designs work. The bird pattern appears on a curtain next to a pink lampshade and a painted vintage telephone. Xi Hu Lake fills an alcove between white columns above a striped sofa. Ming Pagoda sits above white metro tiles in a bathroom, next to a dark-framed mirror. If you want one wall to make a statement, choose the panorama. For a whole room, a repeating pattern creates a calmer effect.
