Ikart wallpaper collection Coordonne

Ikart wallpaper by Coordonne: textile patterns on the wall

Ikart wallpaper translates ancient dyeing techniques for textiles to the wall. Edges bleed, lines fray and colours run. This blurring is the common thread of this collection by Coordonne. Beyond that, the patterns vary widely. You'll find small vertical repeat patterns that give a wall a calm rhythm, and a full-wall panorama in which a hazy horizon stretches across the wall. The colour palette jumps from cream with orange to brown with light pink and deep blue with white. This way you can choose between a tight rhythm and a large, painterly image within one collection.

Patterns in the Ikart wallpaper collection

Huipil wallpaper alternates narrow black and grey lines on cream with beige herringbone bands and columns of orange stripes with frayed edges. Llengues wallpaper places white, elongated ovals with blurred edges in vertical rows on a blue background. Shibori wallpaper goes the other way: a horizontal band of bleeding brown and grey, with beige above and light pink below, across the full width of the wall. Kasuri wallpaper brings Japanese-style ikat, and Abr wallpaper also works with an ikat pattern. Sumba wallpaper chooses a floral damask pattern, Uzbek wallpaper a multicoloured ikat motif and Kente wallpaper stripes that refer to garments made from cotton strips. Padmasalis wallpaper and Boho wallpaper complete the range.

Ikart by Coordonne in a sitting nook, bedroom and hallway

In the images you can see how differently the patterns work. Huipil covers a sitting nook with a built-in bench and wall shelves, where slanting sunlight brings the lines to life. Shibori fills the wall behind a bed under a sloping roof, where it acts as a single large painting. Llengues gives a hallway with kilim runners and stacks of books a blue counterpoint. So with Coordonne wallpaper from this range, you first choose the scale, then the colour.
