Istoria wallpaper by Black Edition: wave patterns, mythical creatures and painterly art on the wall

The Istoria wallpaper by Black Edition revolves around large patterns with soft, blurred contours. Wave bands run the full height of the wall, with edges that bleed out as if the colour has soaked into the fabric. Alongside these abstract rhythms are figurative scenes with winged mythical creatures among curling clouds. The background has a textile-like appearance, sometimes with a fine weave structure or linen look. Taupe, cream, navy blue and ochre recur, interspersed with accents in orange, petrol blue and pink. Up close you see the structure. From a distance the pattern fills the entire wall.

Patterns in the Istoria wallpaper collection

Ruhani wallpaper shows horizontal, zigzagging bands with frayed edges in flame-stitch style, in taupe, grey-brown and cream with a golden sheen. Mizu wallpaper has rounder waves in navy blue to anthracite, with lilac-grey bands and a visible vertical weave structure. Chimera wallpaper is figurative: griffin-like creatures, a white winged lion and birds float among blue-grey clouds on an ochre-gold linen-look ground. Ebru wallpaper translates the ikat pattern into large-scale, diffuse abstraction. Isenzo wallpaper is a chinoiserie design with gardens, birds and flora, highlighted by metallic accents. Sieta Tinto wallpaper is a plain design with a metallic background and a soft sheen. Pigment wallpaper lets multicoloured brushstrokes run across the wall, and Pigment Mural wallpaper complements it. Zaida wallpaper presents a geometric pattern with raffia-like yarns and a fringe effect created by fil coupé. Aluna wallpaper and Una wallpaper complete the series.

Istoria by Black Edition in the drawing room and study

The images show how the patterns relate to a room. Ruhani covers a classic drawing room with a decorative plaster ceiling and a panelled door, where a rust-coloured velvet sofa picks up the warm tones. Mizu gives a study with dark wood and a black metal bookshelf a deep, cool background. With Chimera, a ribbed chest of drawers and a green marble vase are all it takes. Keep the furnishings understated and let the Istoria wallpaper do the work.
