Kanako fabric by Elitis: velvet with small, continuous patterns

The Kanako fabric by Elitis revolves around small motifs that repeat across an entire seat or cushion. In the images you see the fabrics on an oak sofa, on curved chairs and on a platform of terracotta tiles, against walls of wooden planks. That warm wood brings out the colours of the velvet beautifully: blue-green, navy blue and rust brown. Up close you see speckles, stripes and wavy lines. From a distance they read as a lively texture. This way your sofa or chair gets a pattern with character, without it taking over the room.

Patterns in the Kanako fabric collection

Mochi fabric scatters small cream-coloured speckles randomly over a dark blue-green background, like a fine rain of light on velvet. Inari fabric is more ordered: short, wavy black stripes in pairs, alternately horizontal and vertical, form a woven pattern on navy blue and brighter blue velvet. With Masaki fabric, black scale-shaped wavy lines run in straight horizontal rows over rust brown velvet, interrupted by cream-coloured dots. The striped and graphic patterns are calmer. Misao fabric has vertical stripes in beige and sand tones. Miki fabric alternates bands of different widths in green, beige and grey, and Takao fabric builds up a grid of rectangles and horizontal stripes in sand and golden brown.

Combining Kanako by Elitis with wood and terracotta

The Elitis fabric from this range works well alongside wood: the images show oak, curved chair frames, woven bamboo and terracotta. Feel free to combine the busier velvet patterns with plain or striped fabrics, as the linen and ribbed cushions in the photos show. If you choose the Kanako fabric in blue, it contrasts with orange-brown tiles. The rust brown of Masaki, on the other hand, ties in with the colour of the wood.
