Matieres a Reflexions wallpaper by Elitis: lines that catch the light

Matieres a Reflexions wallpaper consists of surfaces that are entirely built up from fine lines when seen up close. This line structure makes the wall change with every shift in light. What looks almost plain in the morning gains depth and pattern in raking light. Elitis keeps each graphic pattern within a single colour family, from beige and taupe to silver grey and apricot. The difference lies in the shape: irregular polygons, stacked arcs or clean rectangles. You're choosing mainly between movement and calm on the wall.

Patterns in the Matieres a Reflexions wallpaper collection

Dedales wallpaper scatters large, irregular polygons across the wall, without a visible grid. Each surface has lines running in a different direction, in beige and taupe with the occasional light blue line. In the photo it hangs above a low bookshelf, with yellow-green coffee tables and a plant in a terracotta pot in front. Circolo wallpaper works with stacked arcs and curved bands full of concentric lines. The silver grey to white surface shines and reflects the light, which works well in a bathroom with a concrete-effect countertop. Equilibre wallpaper is neatly ordered: rectangular blocks in running bond, with horizontal ribs and thin dark joints, in an apricot-toned beige. If you're looking for colour, you'll find it in Abstract Floral wallpaper, a panel set with abstract flowers.

The patterns only really reveal their detail when light rakes across the wall. That's why they work well on a wall next to a window or under a wall light. The understated colours of this Elitis wallpaper leave room for statement furniture, like the black metal chair and pink glass vase shown with Equilibre. With Matieres a Reflexions wallpaper you choose a wall that looks different in daylight than in the evening.
