Melaky wallpaper collection Arte

Melaky wallpaper by Arte: raffia, mulberry bark and embroidery

Melaky wallpaper by Arte is all about fibre and texture. Two patterns are woven from raffia, two are made from mulberry bark and one shows a multicoloured leaf pattern that looks like embroidery. The colours stay close to nature: warm brown and ochre, grey-green and, in the embroidered pattern, red, orange and blue-grey. In the lifestyle images the wallpaper hangs in spaces with oak wood, rush chairs and terracotta floors. There you can see how the texture catches the incoming light and how well these walls go with artisan materials.

Patterns in the Melaky wallpaper collection

Farini wallpaper is a plain raffia weave in warm brown to ochre yellow, applied in wide strips that overlap each other. You see irregular vertical lines and a fine horizontal weft, which gives the wall depth under raking light. Tana wallpaper is also hand-woven raffia, but in grey-green with a horizontal grain and varying fibre thickness. The seams remain visible and are part of the look. Alba wallpaper and Rubra wallpaper are made from mulberry bark. In Alba, rough, irregular strips of bark from the white mulberry are interwoven. In Rubra, large pieces of bark form a pattern with an irregular texture. Mandrava wallpaper takes the opposite approach: curved, elongated leaf shapes in red, orange and blue-grey, alternating with green and cream, twist in a dense composition across the wall. The surfaces are drawn like embroidery stitches and blue seam lines run between the panels.

Combining Arte wallpaper with wood, cane and terracotta

The plain weaves of Farini and Tana let your furniture and art do the talking. In the images an oak desk, a rush chair and a still life with limes stand in front of the wall, without anything competing for attention. If you choose Mandrava, the wall becomes the focal point. Green velvet, white furniture and a red marbled table hold their own next to the busy pattern. This way, this Arte collection suits both a quiet workspace and a bold seating area.
