Memphis wallpaper by Arte: Egyptian relief on the wall

With Memphis wallpaper by Arte you bring the temples, oases and pyramids of Ancient Egypt to your wall, translated into relief. In the images each pattern works with one colour, so that form and shadow do the work. Grazing light from a lamp makes the grooves deeper and highlights lines. Some designs remain abstract, with slats and stacked triangles. Others fill panels with pyramids, papyrus and eyes. Sand beige, ochre and olive green define the palette. This way a wall gains depth without a second colour being needed.

Patterns in the Memphis wallpaper collection

Abydos wallpaper consists of vertical rods and slats of varying length, intersected by long diagonals that form trapezoids and triangles. The sand-beige relief is dense and irregularly structured. Amarna wallpaper is a collage of panels in ochre and golden brown, filled with pyramids, papyrus bundles, eyes, zigzags and rows of figures. It is the only figurative design in the images. Siwa wallpaper opts for olive green and a velvety surface, with vertical bands full of triangles pointing alternately up and down. Fine grooves fill each triangle. Ibis wallpaper depicts the green banks of the Nile in tall panels, in a soft relief textile with a vertical rhythm. Sakkara wallpaper draws its layered structure from the pyramids of Saqqara, close to Memphis.

Combining Memphis wallpaper with wood, rattan and brass

The mood images show how Arte wallpaper from this range responds to the interior. Abydos is paired with wooden chairs with rattan seats and a coffee table with a parquet pattern. Amarna is shown with a curved sofa in mustard-yellow velvet and brass. Siwa is counterbalanced by a black sideboard with pyramid-shaped panels. If you place a lamp close to the wall, the relief of Memphis by Arte comes into its own.
