Mulberry Wallcovering wallpaper by CMO Paris: bark texture in brown tones

The Mulberry Wallcovering wallpaper by CMO Paris is made from mulberry tree pulp and hand-crafted in natural tones. Up close you see spots and fibres that resemble tree bark or leather. Each pattern is built up from separate sections, so the wall reads as a composed surface rather than a continuous print. The colours stay close to nature, from cognac and caramel to taupe and dark brown. One material, two patterns and two very different rhythms on your wall.

Patterns in the Mulberry Wallcovering wallpaper collection

Murier wallpaper lays horizontal strips of unequal length staggered next to each other, like brickwork. The tones are warm: cognac and caramel, alternating with light brown and dark brown strips. In the photo it runs across two walls in the corner of a living room, next to crinkled white sheer curtains and a brown velvet sofa, and there you can see how the strips visually widen the space. Murier Chevron wallpaper uses the same mottled bark texture in grey-brown and taupe with dark accents. Here the sections are set diagonally in vertical panels and form a large-scale chevron pattern. Thin gold lines follow part of the edges and sometimes break off into short vertical dashes, so the metallic finish catches the light. In the dining room with a rattan pendant lamp and a live-edge table, this gives the wall direction.

Combining CMO Paris wallpaper with wood, rattan and velvet

Both patterns call for materials that complement the bark texture. In the images these are walnut wood, rattan, velvet and stone, with a grey or cream rug as a point of calm. Murier suits a living room where you want to carry the warm brown tones through to the sofa. Murier Chevron needs a long wall to let the pattern speak — a dining room is the logical place for that. Mulberry Wallcovering wallpaper makes the wall itself the material your room revolves around.
