Onomichi fabric by Elitis: coarse weave with stitched symbols

The Onomichi fabric by Elitis focuses on coarsely woven textiles in brown, beige and cream, with lines visibly stitched into the fabric. In the images, the fabrics hang as Roman blinds and curtains in front of windows in spaces with wooden walls and frames, alongside dried grasses, a black vase with proteas and a wooden jug. Light falls through the weave and reveals the thread structure. Each design follows its own pattern: rows of triangles, free symbols or a check. The colours stay close to wood and dry grass.

Patterns in the Onomichi fabric collection

Miko fabric has a rust-brown base with vertical bands of cream-coloured triangles pointing downwards, two or three side by side, with a black-and-white dotted line through the centre of each band. Plenty of plain surface remains between the bands. Hiro fabric is more loosely woven and lets light through. Olive-green stitches draw circles, arcs, fish shapes and letter-like symbols densely across the cloth. A dark brown version with cream motifs also exists. Hanaki fabric places brown stripes of varying widths on beige and crosses them with thin lines in blue stitching to form a check. Kana fabric combines diagonal lines and diamond motifs in white on a sand-coloured weave. Mitsumi fabric alternates wide bands in light blue, beige and ivory and finishes with a fringe along the bottom edge. Erika fabric has a band with stylised medallions in soft gold on ivory beside a wide plain zone in cream.

Onomichi by Elitis for windows in a wooden interior

In the photographs, these fabrics hang as Roman blinds or curtains in front of a window, where daylight makes the coarse thread visible. They suit wooden walls, dried grasses and a dark vase. If you want calm, choose a stripe or check. If you're looking for movement on the cloth, Hiro with its scattered symbols offers more to see. Every Elitis fabric in this range sticks to brown and beige with the occasional touch of blue, so you can combine patterns in one space.
