Pampas wallpaper by Arte: walls with the texture of natural fibre

Pampas wallpaper by Arte revolves around one idea: the raw texture of natural fibres, translated into vinyl. No flowers or figures. You mainly see fine horizontal stripes, lighter and darker threads intermingled, and small irregularities that keep the surface lively. Up close, you can make out the fibre. From a distance, the wall becomes one calm plane in grey-green, old rose or sand beige. In the mood images, sunlight falls in diagonal bands across the wall, and that's when the texture comes to the fore. This way, a bare room gains depth without the wallpaper demanding attention.

Patterns in the Pampas wallpaper collection

The Matiz wallpaper interprets woven banana bark in grey-green: a small, dense stripe that runs across the entire wall, with a dark thread here and there. Next to a wooden bench with cream-coloured bouclé cushions it feels light and calm. Sombra wallpaper shows a hemp weave in old rose to mauve-brown, densely woven and with small irregularities. In the photograph it frames a plastered staircase in beige, with a rust-brown velvet armchair beside it. With Motas wallpaper the fibres of an arrowroot plant are the starting point. The stripe in sand beige is coarser than in Matiz and is interrupted by dark brown speckles. The Cupula wallpaper stands apart with a dome pattern that evokes the feel of rough linen. Where the other three rely on horizontal striping, this pattern gives the wall a design with more form.

Combining Pampas wallpaper with wood, plaster and velvet

The images show where these walls come into their own: with warm wood, beige plasterwork, white floors and ceramics with a rough surface. Choose grey-green or sand beige for a room with plenty of daylight. The old rose of Sombra calls for warmer contrasting colours, such as rust-brown velvet. Because the Arte wallpaper itself tells no story, it leaves room for art and furniture with a distinctive shape.
