Pavilion wallpaper from 1838 wallcoverings: painted nature on your wall

With Pavilion wallpaper from 1838 wallcoverings, your wall takes on the character of a large painting. The designs are large-scale, look painted and draw their motifs from nature: acanthus scrolls, a lake in autumn tones, birds of paradise among flowering branches. Yet they vary greatly. One is a damask in greyish blue and off-white, another a landscape in ochre, green and red. A third sets burgundy, salmon and blue against a light ground. So you can choose between ornament, landscape and flora within one collection.

Patterns in the Pavilion wallpaper collection

Ornamenta wallpaper shows a damask of acanthus leaves, scrolls and tendrils with berries around a teardrop-shaped ornament, in bleeding watercolour layers of greyish blue, dark blue and off-white. Lakeside wallpaper repeats a lakeshore with trees in autumn colours, hills in mist and reflections in the water. Bird Sonnet features birds of paradise with long tails among flowering branches, in two colourways: Bird Sonnet wallpaper in pink and gold on paperweave and Bird Sonnet wallpaper in pink and blue. In Trailing Magnolia wallpaper and Trailing Magnolia Paperweave wallpaper, magnolia flowers hang downwards, slowly fading into the background. Pavilion wallpaper carries the name of the collection and shows a country house scene with pavilions and flowers, with a nod to toile. Prefer one large flower with hand-painted details? You'll find it in two versions: Liliana wallpaper and Liliana wallpaper.

In the images you can see how the patterns relate to furniture. Ornamenta hangs behind a black sideboard with a wooden front in pyramid relief and a turquoise glass bottle. Lakeside is paired with a brass lamp with a dome shade and a green vase with a fern. Behind Bird Sonnet stands a dark blue velvet chair against a petrol-blue skirting board. Carry one colour from the wallpaper over into your furniture or accessories, and wall and room become one.
