Solal wallpaper by Casamance: woven natural fibre for your wall

Solal wallpaper brings the structure of braided and woven fibres to your wall. In this collection by Casamance, it's all about material you can see and almost feel: raffia, jute, ramie and rayon. The colours stay close to the fibre itself, from straw and honey beige to golden yellow and taupe. Some designs are plain, unpatterned weaves in which only the weave structure determines the rhythm. Others have a geometric pattern or are laid on gold-coloured metallic paper. So within one collection you'll find both a calm background and a wall that does the talking itself.

Patterns in the Solal wallpaper collection

Kamoro wallpaper is a woven raffia in a fine basket weave with a small, block-like rhythm. Light and dark fibres in straw and honey beige alternate, because the colour has been scraped off the fibre. Komba wallpaper has the same braided structure, but coarser, with knots and slubs in the golden yellow straw. Gili wallpaper takes a different direction: jute and paper form closely spaced vertical stripes in light brown and taupe. With Kazura wallpaper, ramie is woven in a way that reminds you of Indonesian blinds. If you want pattern, Sumba wallpaper has a continuous symmetrical motif of interlocking shapes. The title pattern Solal wallpaper shows a mosaic of geometric shapes. Merina wallpaper lays raffia in herringbone on gold-coloured metallic paper. Ikopa wallpaper combines that same gold-coloured paper with rayon in a retro geometric pattern. Togian wallpaper completes the series.

Solal by Casamance on your wall: colour and light

The mood images show what these weaves do to a space. Behind white ceramics and a roughly worked plinth, Kamoro gains depth. Komba makes the golden yellow of the straw light up above a glass tabletop on travertine. Gili continues around a corner and looks darker on the less well-lit wall. Black furniture, rattan and pottery suit this Casamance wallpaper, because the material itself already says enough.
