The Gardens wallpaper by Cole and Son: hand-drawn gardens and forests on your wall

With The Gardens wallpaper by Cole and Son, you bring hand-drawn gardens indoors, from a wall covered in tiny wild flowers to a panorama of white tree trunks with birds in the branches. All patterns share the same illustrative hand: plants and flowers are drawn line by line, as in a botanical sketchbook. Within that shared style, the collection varies widely. There are open murals with plenty of breathing space, dense patterns without a centimetre of empty background, and tones ranging from powder pink through pastel to a green that verges on black. This way you can choose room by room how exuberant the garden should be.

Patterns in The Gardens wallpaper collection

Petite Fleur wallpaper scatters tiny flowers in pink, mauve, lilac, white and ochre so densely across the wall that the background disappears. Up close you see flowers, from a distance a pink haze. Grande Fleur wallpaper shows the same abundance of wild flowers. Seasonal Woods wallpaper is a hand-painted panorama: trees with white trunks, green leaves and, in one tree, rust-brown leaves, rose bushes, woodpeckers, tits and butterflies on low hills, under a sky that transitions from blue-grey to cream. Reverie wallpaper and Idylle wallpaper are also panoramic scenes, the first with a dreamlike tableau of trees in a hidden oasis, the second with an English landscape garden where peacocks stand around a pond among blooming flowers. Cascade wallpaper works on a medium scale with petrol-blue palm leaves, hanging clusters of purple flowers and small orange and yellow-green flowers on a dark green to black ground.

The photos show how differently the patterns work in a room. Petite Fleur frames painted garden panels, next to green-painted ornamental panels and a green door. Seasonal Woods gets an empty wall with only a round marble table and two wooden chairs in front of it. Cascade fills the spaces between dark green wall mouldings, behind a green velvet sofa with grey fringe. Choose an open panorama from this Cole and Son wallpaper collection if you want calm, and a continuous pattern if you want the wall to make a statement.
