PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Untitled 1941 fabric by Dedar in the colourway Naturale

The Untitled 1941 fabric is built up from horizontal bands and blocks that shift against one another, each just slightly longer or shorter than the last. Some blocks end in a diagonal cut, others fray into loose thread ends. Between them run rows of short dashes, as if someone had traced the weave with needle and thread. Nowhere do you see a rigid repeat. The rhythm falters, picks up the thread again and keeps your eye moving.

Colours and texture of Untitled 1941 fabric

In the Naturale colourway, off-white forms the base, with cream and sand beige in the lighter bands. Light grey, anthracite and black provide contrast. Ochre yellow appears a few times as a warm accent, and here and there you will find a hint of dark brown leaning towards aubergine. The surface is anything but flat: slubs, raised threads and densely woven strips alternate. It looks hand-woven, with a relief you would rather touch than merely look at.

How this Dedar fabric works in a space

Because the pattern does not repeat regularly within the visible section, it reads more as a woven composition than as a motif. Ochre yellow and black give direction, while the light tones keep it calm. When light falls from the side, the Untitled 1941 fabric by Dedar reveals every slub and every thread. Against calm walls and alongside natural materials, that layering truly comes into its own. Find more Italian weaves in the Dedar fabric collection.

Maintenance of curtain and furniture fabrics

To keep your curtains looking beautiful for a long time, regular and careful maintenance is important.

Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible, as this can cause discoloration over time. TIP! Make sure your curtains are lined; this protects the main fabric.

For light soiling, you can freshen up the fabric with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents or excessive water. Always treat stains carefully and test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the fabric first.

Recommended maintenance products:

For curtain fabrics we recommend James products:

  • James Interior Cleaner – suitable for both natural and synthetic fabrics. Ideal for freshening curtains without damaging the fiber structure.
  • James Stain Wonder – helps remove stains, for example from contact or air pollution.

Apply the product to a white terrycloth towel, not directly onto the fabric, and dab gently. Let the fabric dry naturally, preferably out of direct sunlight.

Maintenance of furniture fabric

Furniture fabrics such as chair, sofa and cushion covers require regular care for a long life and a fresh appearance.

Vacuum the surface weekly with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt, hair, and dust. Rotate cushions regularly to prevent uneven wear and tear, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

In case of stains, it's important to act quickly: blot immediately with a clean, slightly damp cloth (do not rub). For safe and effective cleaning, use James products, specially developed for upholstery fabrics:

  • James Interior Cleaner – freshens furniture upholstery and removes light soiling without damaging the fibers.
  • James Stain Wonder – ideal for removing stains caused by drinks, food remains or pets.

For a thorough cleaning or to remove stubborn stains, it's wise to have the fabric professionally cleaned. This will keep the fabric beautiful, supple, and fresh-colored.
