Julie wallpaper Sandberg

Julie wallpaper by Sandberg: a peony on a wall-filling scale

Julie wallpaper places one large bouquet in the middle of your wall, with a pink peony at its heart. Around it, flamed tulips in white and red, parrot tulips, astrantia and chequered snake's head fritillaries bend outwards. Blades of grass, a spotted begonia leaf and a broad dark green leaf support the arrangement. At the bottom, a light blue vase just comes into view. It is a photographic image without repetition, greatly enlarged against an even, lightly mottled background. This gives the wall a focal point that naturally draws the eye.

Colours of Julie wallpaper: Dark and Light

In Dark, the bouquet stands against a deep navy blue that verges on blue-black. Pink, white, burgundy and lilac stand out strongly against it, while the sage green of the stems keeps the image calm. Combine it with dark blue or charcoal paint on window frames and skirting boards, walnut or smoked oak, and velvet in dusty pink. Light places the same bouquet on a warm greige, with soft pink, rust red and olive green. This version suits lime paint, light oak, travertine and linen in sand or ecru.

Sandberg wallpaper for bedroom and living room

Because the image does not repeat, it works best on a single wall that is kept clear. In the bedroom, choose the wall you see as you walk in, or a living room wall with little else hanging on it. Dark makes a room feel more intimate, while Light keeps a small space open. Measure your wall carefully beforehand if you order made-to-measure wallpaper, so the peony sits nicely in the centre. At Selected Wallpapers you will find Julie alongside the rest of the Sandberg wallpaper collection.
