Anthologie fabric by Elitis: plain weaves in earth tones

The Anthologie fabric collection by Elitis is all about weaves without pattern. What you see comes from the weave structure itself: creases in a floor-to-ceiling curtain, slubs that run through the fabric as vertical lines, ribs that you recognise even from a distance. The colours stay close to the earth, from ochre and caramel to rust brown, greige and taupe. One exception stands out: a dark blue that sits among the brown tones. With this Elitis fabric, you create a space where texture does the work and pattern isn't needed.

Designs in the Anthologie fabric collection

Bruges fabric is the most supple of the range and drapes in long lengths, with irregular creases in light ochre and fine stripes in the yarn of the rust-brown variant. Gand fabric is medium-coarse with an irregular yarn, in ochre with an orange selvedge stripe, soft greige, medium brown with vertical slubs and a flatter rust red. Uccle fabric has the coarsest rib weave with thick yarns, in taupe, olive brown and, as the only design in the collection, dark blue. Louvain fabric keeps to a creamy colour with an irregular surface. In Bruxelles fabric, sand, beige and cream alternate with visible yarns, while Anvers fabric combines ivory and light beige with horizontal lines in the weave.

Combining Anthologie fabric in your interior

Because all six designs are plain, you can use them side by side without them competing. Bruges hangs as a curtain in long, supple lengths; set the thick ribs of Uccle against it and a fine and a coarse texture play off each other. The dark blue of Uccle provides an anchor among the brown tones. Low light from the side shows the weave of the Anthologie fabric best — creases and ribs then cast shadows.
