Antigua wallpaper by Arte: textile on the wall

The Antigua wallpaper by Arte revolves around one idea: the wall should look like fabric. Every pattern in this collection shows a woven texture, from mottled linen to fine horizontal threads reminiscent of raffia. On top of that, the collection sometimes opts for a motif, such as a dense floral pattern or a tropical scene, and sometimes for calm with a plain surface. So in one collection you'll find both a wall that becomes the talking point of the room and a background that lets your furniture do the work. The colour palette ranges from almost black with green to old rose and cream.

Five patterns in the Antigua wallpaper collection

Stagionato wallpaper is the darkest pattern. Large, overlapping leaves and open flowers are painted with blurred edges, in blue-green, olive green and ochre on an almost black ground. A vague grid of rectangles runs through the image, and the woven texture remains visible everywhere. Tintura wallpaper shows a mottled linen texture in old rose, divided into large panels with visible seams, as if pieces of fabric have been placed next to each other. Ritorto wallpaper keeps it even calmer with continuous horizontal lines in cream, beige and light brown, without seams or motif. Tropicali wallpaper fills the wall with exotic plants and birds on a textile-like ground full of fine cracks. Pentagono wallpaper places a graphic pattern of pentagons on a background reminiscent of bouclé.

Combining Antigua by Arte with furniture and colour

Stagionato calls for contrast. In the lifestyle photo, a white buttoned armchair and black metal stand in front of it, making the green appear even deeper. Tintura and Ritorto work the other way round. Their light texture brings calm behind light grey upholstery, chrome and glossy ochre or brown. Do you want one wall with a motif and the rest kept calm? Then combine a figurative pattern from the Antigua wallpaper collection with a plain texture from the same range.
