Cordes sensibles wallpaper collection Elitis

Cordes sensibles wallpaper by Elitis: patterns like wrapped cord

The Cordes sensibles wallpaper by Elitis is all about lines that look like coiled or tightly stretched cord. The collection is a collaboration with Véronique de Soultrait and places geometric patterns with inlaid rope alongside hand-painted designs. You see circles, leaves and squares, each built up from fine threads running close together. The colours stay earthy: cream, ochre, olive green, beige and black. Up close you can make out every individual line. From a distance it becomes one calm rhythm across your wall.

Patterns in the Cordes sensibles wallpaper collection

Courbes wallpaper lays square tiles in a grid with a quarter circle in each tile, so four tiles together form a full cream circle. In between is a woven structure in ochre, framed by thin golden-brown lines. Jonchee wallpaper is smaller in scale: pointed leaves in olive green overlap like scales, each with a dotted central vein and a copper-coloured contour. Carres Jalonnes wallpaper seeks contrast, with black frames around black squares on a large beige grid divided diagonally into triangles. Cocon wallpaper and Sillage wallpaper both work with a diamond motif, Cocon on a large scale. Hand-painted are Arabesque wallpaper with organic lines full of colour, Le Palais des Vents wallpaper with large planes moving across the wall and Eclats Cosmiques wallpaper full of colourful curves. Terre wallpaper completes the series.

Cordes sensibles by Elitis in bedroom, sitting area and hallway

Behind a bed, Courbes shows what a single drop does. Diagonal sunlight falls across the circles and cord lines, next to a grey wall with a terrazzo basin. Jonchee covers an entire wall in olive green, where a brown leather armchair and an onyx side table stand out beautifully. In a hallway, Carres Jalonnes is joined by black side tables that repeat the black from the pattern.
