20th Century Papers wallpaper collection Little Greene

20th Century Papers wallpaper by Little Greene: graphic patterns in line and flat colour

With 20th Century Papers wallpaper you bring patterns into your home that revolve around line and flat colour. In this collection, Little Greene has brought together patterns that work without shading or any sense of depth, using contour lines and clear blocks of colour. The result is a surprisingly broad range. On one side there's an abstract chain of cream links on greyish blue. On the other side you'll find herb drawings on pastel-coloured rectangles and flowering branches in cobalt blue. What connects them is a hand-drawn, graphic style that you'll recognise in every pattern.

Patterns in the 20th Century Papers wallpaper collection

Lavaliers wallpaper is completely abstract. It consists of vertical bands of elongated links with rounded ends, cream with thin blue contours, with blue diamonds forming between them. Herbes wallpaper places line drawings of herbs and twigs on staggered rectangles in salmon pink, yellow-green, mint blue and greyish beige. The lines extend beyond the blocks of colour. On Camellia wallpaper, branches with five-petalled flowers creep across the wall, filled in light blue and outlined in gold on cobalt blue. Flowers also feature in Starflower wallpaper, with a bold graphic floral motif, and in the hand-drawn Norcombe wallpaper. Fern wallpaper works with silhouettes of ornamental plants. Pines wallpaper shows pine trees rising from clouds, and Hampstead wallpaper captures a city scene in calm lines. The range is completed with Reverie wallpaper, Zingara wallpaper, Cones wallpaper and Florette wallpaper.

Combining Little Greene wallpaper with paint and furniture

The lifestyle images show how to tie 20th Century Papers wallpaper in with the rest of the room. Next to Lavaliers, the adjoining wall is painted blue. With Camellia, the door frame and wall are painted deep blue, with brass taps as a warm accent. Herbes is balanced by a yellow and a petrol-blue tub chair around a wooden table. Choose a colour from the pattern and repeat it in your mouldings or furniture.
