Avington wallpaper collection 1838 Wallcoverings

Avington wallpaper by 1838 Wallcoverings: damask, trees and texture

Avington wallpaper brings ornament, figuration and calm texture together in one collection. You will find large damasks, a tree scene with blossom, flowers on a metallic base and plains with a mottled or crinkled surface. Many patterns share a background that is never flat, with tonal variation and a subtle sheen that moves with the light. The differences lie in scale and colour. Ochre-gold against grey, silver with light blue, sage green with gold. This way, within Avington by 1838 Wallcoverings, you can put together a room in which a busy pattern and a calm wall balance each other.

Patterns in the Avington wallpaper collection

Faversham wallpaper is a large damask in mirrored repeat. Acanthus leaves and chalice shapes in ochre-gold with a velvety relief lie on a combed marble pattern in grey and silver. Broughton wallpaper is also a damask, here with soft silver metallic on a chalky base. In Harewood wallpaper, trees with twisting brown trunks, white and taupe crowns and light blue blossom grow against a silver-grey that graduates from light to dark. Chatsworth wallpaper places large flowers in soft taupe on a glossy metallic background. Brodsworth wallpaper works with a small scroll. If you don't want a motif, choose Fenton wallpaper, a mottled plaster texture in sage green with golden-green flecks. Another option is Avington wallpaper, in which a random moiré gives the effect of a watermark.

Combining 1838 Wallcoverings wallpaper in one room

Because large patterns and plains are in the same collection, you can easily combine a busy wall with a calm one. Put Harewood on one wall and give the other walls Fenton or Avington. You can also choose Faversham above a mantelpiece, where an ochre-yellow vase picks up the gold. Fenton works well with light wood and mint green at a dining table. The metallic backgrounds catch daylight, so a window opposite the wall works in your favour.
