Benini, who remains creative director today, first noticed the decorative power of a large-format leaf motif he had created as a photographic backdrop. Architects and interior designers were hooked right away, and the brand went on to rewrite the rules of wall decoration: Wall & Deco wallpaper is about artistic composition instead of repeating pattern, produced with advanced digital printing. In 2018 the company joined the Swedish Embellence Group, while design and production stayed firmly Italian.

The designs come on several substrates, each with a character of its own. d.ecodura™ Texture has an embossed surface that absorbs light and adds depth, a natural fit for living rooms and bedrooms where texture does the talking. d.ecodura™ Sand is smooth and silky with intense color depth, the pick if you want maximum clarity in the print. Both belong to d.ecodura™, which swaps conventional vinyl for BIOVYN™, a bio-based material with a considerably smaller carbon footprint than standard PVC, certified for Indoor Air Comfort Gold and the French VOC standard A+. Then there is the Wet System: the brand's waterproof line for bathrooms, spas and wet rooms, applied as a multi-layer build-up (primer, dedicated adhesive, fiberglass fabric and a protective finish) with a total thickness of just 1.5 mm, about 1/16 of an inch. For that one we recommend an experienced installer.
