How a LondonArt wallpaper order is measured and printed

Nothing is cut from stock. You send the width and the height of the wall, in feet and inches if that is easier, and the composition is scaled to that exact surface. A wall of 12 ft (3.66 m) gets a different crop than one of 9 ft (2.74 m), so the best part of the image does not disappear behind a bookcase. The Italian atelier in Milan prints digitally, panel by panel, and the artistic signature is the point: a design is drawn to hold a whole wall on its own. Measure the drywall twice, window reveals included, and check what the baseboard and the crown molding will swallow before anything goes to print. Choosing between non-woven and Glass Finish

The finish decides who hangs it. The non-woven option is a vinyl on a non-woven backing and goes up like the rest of the non-woven wallpaper we stock, which puts it within reach of a careful homeowner or any paperhanger you already use. Glass Finish is the other route, a semi-transparent fiberglass. It takes light softly and holds more depth in the color, and it shows best on a wall the sun crosses during the day. It also asks for an installer who has hung it before, so line that person up before the print goes into production rather than after.

A powder room is the easiest place to start. It is small, it is seen alone, and one image can wrap it completely without an awkward join, which is where these prints tend to win people over first. An entryway asks the opposite: the wall gets about three seconds from the front door, so something graphic and linear reads faster than something soft. Over a stair run, plan for the image to be seen at an angle from below and again from above. In a child's room the practical questions come first, from how high small hands reach to whether the image still holds up when the child is ten; the kids room wallpaper selection is a fair test of that.
