Moon fabric by Camengo: organic lines in cream, sand and gold

The Moon fabric by Camengo brings together a range of patterns in which free, organic shapes take centre stage. Undulating loops, stacked segments and broad brushstrokes stand out against cream and beige backgrounds, often with a contour line that sharply defines the form. Sometimes that line is ochre gold, sometimes black or brown. The palette remains warm and neutral, so you can easily combine the fabrics with wood, concrete and ceramic. On an armchair, the relief is particularly striking; as a curtain, by contrast, the pattern has room to move within the folds.

Ophea Velvet fabric has closely spaced wave lines, like contour lines on a map, in raised cream-white velvet with an ochre-gold edge on a coarsely woven beige base. With Ophea Recycle fabric, the same loops are larger and more widely spaced: cream embroidery with a thin black shadow line on an open, slightly crinkled weave. Ophea fabric draws the waves in warm brown tones on cream. Luminara fabric opts for a vertical rhythm of elongated segments reminiscent of pebbles, with golden-brown contours and small dark brown triangles in between. Solstice fabric features strands of small circles hanging like beads on a string, in beige and taupe. Moon fabric itself shows broad brushstrokes in beige and off-white, and Nyx fabric is an ikat that transitions from ivory to sand, with a weathered character.

How you use the Moon by Camengo depends on the pattern. The relief velvet of Ophea Velvet comes into its own on an armchair with rounded shapes, where the light glides over the velvet. Luminara works particularly well vertically: as a curtain, the folds reinforce the vertical rhythm. Combine the cream-coloured fabrics with ochre gold, dark wood or bouclé, as in the lifestyle images, and the warm palette remains calm.
