Mouvements wallpaper by Casamance: abstract art on a grand scale

The Mouvements wallpaper by Casamance draws its imagery from abstract art. Quarter circles, arcs, crescents and amphora silhouettes stand side by side on a large scale, in colours such as petrol, ochre, terracotta and olive green. What binds the patterns is the visible hand: wood grain in the surfaces, brushstrokes, mottled paint. This makes you read a wall as a painting rather than a pattern. Among the bold designs there are also calm walls, such as a plain stucco look in soft mint. This way you can combine a graphic feature wall with a calm wall next to it.

Patterns in the Mouvements wallpaper collection

Vassily wallpaper references Kandinsky and arranges quarter circles, arcs and rectangles in vertical bands, with small navy blue half discs as accents and wood grain in some surfaces. Auguste wallpaper is painted more loosely: a grid of panels with circles, crescents, triangles and vase shapes in ochre, olive green and pink-beige. Where Vassily is more structured and cooler in colour, Auguste feels more painterly. Sonia wallpaper is a geometric pattern with bold use of colour, inspired by Delaunay. Alexander wallpaper references Alexander Calder, with fine structures that seem to move across the wall. Gino wallpaper shows a composition by Gino Severini, organic and full of geometry. If you're looking for calm, choose Argile wallpaper, a plain limewash effect in mint with cloudy gradations, or Sinopia wallpaper, with stripes on an irregular background.

Combining Mouvements by Casamance with wood and earth tones

In the mood images, Vassily is shown next to wooden panelling and a fireplace, while the same pattern appears on a pouf and roll in fabric. Auguste hangs behind a floating concrete shelf with orange vases and a leather lounge chair. Warm wood and earth tones enhance the colours of these patterns. Argile appears next to a white bouclé sofa and a herringbone floor. If you choose one pattern as an eye-catcher, Casamance wallpaper in a plain stucco look keeps the rest of the room calm.
