Kala wallpaper by Coordonne: Indian scenes and plant motifs

Kala wallpaper by Coordonne brings the visual language of Indian miniature paintings and botanical drawings to your wall. Several patterns are panoramic designs that fill the entire wall: a landscape stretches across the full width, with palaces with white domes, palm trees, peacocks and riders on horseback. In contrast are designs that zoom in on a single plant. A wall-height flower, bamboo in fine lines, branches with leaves on deep blue. The colours come from nature: ochre gold, sage green, sand, indigo and a dark blue-green that colours the sky above the hills. So within one collection you can choose between a story on the wall and a serene plant motif.

Patterns in the Kala wallpaper collection

In Panchatantra Metallics wallpaper, separate islands of scenes stand on an ochre gold metallic background: a winged lion, an archer on a deer, a boat between lotuses and white herons. Maharaja wallpaper spreads a continuous landscape under a dark blue-green sky, with a couple on white horses, a tiger, deer and peacocks. Kalamkari wallpaper places musicians, dancers and hunters between cypresses on indigo. More serene is Kamala wallpaper, one enlarged flower in sage green lines on beige. Oshadhi wallpaper draws bamboo and tropical leaves with thin lines, Bagru wallpaper shows branches with taupe leaves on deep blue and Suman wallpaper prints dried leaf shapes in earth tones. In Paksi wallpaper, stylised birds with long tails repeat in an ikat pattern. Boteh wallpaper, Chintz wallpaper and Kashmir wallpaper complete the range.

Kala by Coordonne in the hallway and dining room

The lifestyle images show how Kala wallpaper works in a room. Panchatantra Metallics covers a hallway with a high ceiling and arched windows, where the gold ties in with brass, rattan and a marble floor in pink and white. Kamala hangs behind a round dining table with wicker chairs and continues to the ceiling. Maharaja fills a wall above a grey marble plinth, beside a stone door surround. The scale of these panels comes into its own particularly in high-ceilinged rooms.
