Alcove wallpaper collection Elitis

Elitis Alcove wallpaper in velvet textures

Alcove wallpaper from Elitis covers your walls with velvet instead of a printed pattern. There are no flowers or figures here, just textile surface: a short pile, a visible weave and color that shifts as daylight moves through the room. In shadow the walls read deep and matte. Where light falls, the velvet picks up a soft sheen. The collection holds two designs in taupe and brown tones, one calm and closely woven, the other cloudy and ribbed. Neither has a repeat, so a whole wall never turns busy.

Designs in the Alcove wallpaper collection

Alcove II wallpaper is the quiet one. Fine horizontal and vertical threads form a small grid that reads like woven linen, and faint clouds of sheen drift across an even taupe brown. In the photo it sits behind pale gray shelving with art books, a red ceramic piece and alabaster candle holders, and those objects stand out clearly against the calm wall. Elitis reissued this velvet with a wider palette of 25 shades, from light neutrals to deep, saturated colors. Garconniere wallpaper has more going on. Large, irregular patches of gray-taupe, bronze and dark brown give it a worn patina, while fine vertical ribbing adds a corduroy stripe with a metallic sheen. Wrapped around an outside corner above herringbone oak, it gives the room real depth.

Choosing between the Alcove by Elitis designs

With Alcove by Elitis, you choose mainly by how much movement you want in the surface. Go with Alcove II if your shelves, ceramics or art should carry the room, and browse its color range for the tone that fits. Pick Garconniere when the wall itself should hold attention, for instance in a corner with parquet and a single sculptural piece of furniture. Selected Wallpapers carries both designs from this Alcove wallpaper collection, so you can settle on the calm grid or the ribbed patina for your own walls.
