Texdecor wallpaper

Texdecor wallpaper comes from Willems, just outside Lille in the textile country of northern France, where the company started as a textile workshop in 1974. Its specialty is wallcovering that absorbs noise instead of reflecting it, which is what a drywall-and-hardwood American house needs.

Gypsum board, glass and wide-plank floors give sound almost nothing to sink into, and a double-height entryway or open stair keeps conversation bouncing. Texture in these designs: linen, raffia and travertine

Most designs read as material, not picture: woven linen, raffia, leather grain, travertine. That suits a powder room or entryway, where a large repeat crowds the space and a quiet textured wallpaper wears better. Lime is a compact matte vinyl built for abuse; Lino and Bolton run warmer; Vinacoustic Siana is rated αw 0.25 for sound correction.

Measuring and installing the brand's papers

European rolls are not cut to the widths sold in US stores, so take the width and the pattern repeat from the product page instead of from habit, and order a whole room in one batch for an even dye lot. Relief surfaces and acoustic backings are no weekend job; use an installer who knows European material. The vinyl faces wipe clean and strip off later.
