Camengo fabrics go back to 2004. They come from a French house of furnishing textiles that carries the same name and sits inside the Texdecor group, and the collections still read that way: color used with a light hand, patterns with some wit, cloth made to be lived with rather than admired from the doorway. Bringing nature indoors is how the house sums up its own work, and the intention shows in the plains, the woven textures and the drawn motifs.

How Camengo fabrics handle color and texture

Plenty of furnishing textile stays in the safe neutral register. This one does not. Calm plains and quiet weaves sit in the range, but so does real color, used bright and clear rather than muted down. Texture carries as much weight here as pattern. A plain with a slight slub catches sidelight and shows its weave, while a fine embroidery keeps a restrained scheme from going flat. Cotton and linen sit at the center of the range, alongside weaves chosen for a natural look.

Where Camengo fabric works in an American home

An entryway rewards nerve: a patterned Roman shade there sets the tone for every room behind it. In a primary bedroom the logic reverses, where a soft plain in a heavier weight quiets the room and holds back early light better than a sheer does. Breakfast nook banquettes take real punishment, so reach for a tightly woven upholstery quality. A powder room needs so little yardage that it is the easiest place to try a design you would not give a whole living room. For seating and headboards, start in the upholstery fabrics; for windows, the curtain fabrics; for smaller gestures, the cushion fabrics.

Small Camengo fabric collections to start with

The range is grouped into themed collections, several of them deliberately compact. Artist runs to six designs, Lofoten to two and Chicago Cam to five, so each reads through quickly. If you would rather work from the look than from a collection name, the plain fabrics and the broader luxury fabrics selection cut across every house we carry.

Ordering Camengo fabrics from the Netherlands

Order a sample of anything you are considering before you commit. A screen flattens color and says nothing about drape, and the gap between a cloth that falls in soft folds and one that stands stiffly only shows in the hand. When you move to yardage, check the width and pattern repeat on the product page and add length for matching the motif, since repeats are what turn a tidy estimate into a short order. We are an official Camengo dealer, we ship from the Netherlands, and duties and taxes are included in the price shown. Unsure how much you need? Frequently asked questions

FAQ about Camengo fabrics
Where do Camengo fabrics come from?
Camengo is a French fabric house, founded in 1954 in Paris. The collections are designed in France and are known for playful colour use, refined textures and accessible luxury. Since 1998, Camengo has been part of the same design group as Dominique Kieffer.
What can Camengo fabrics be used for?
Camengo fabrics are versatile: for curtains, upholstery, cushions, headboards and smaller accessories. Each fabric indicates whether it's suitable for curtains, furniture or both. For upholstery, the Martindale rating determines durability — feel free to ask for advice.
Can I order a sample of Camengo?
Yes, samples can be ordered via the product page. This lets you assess colour, texture and drape at home in your own light. It helps avoid surprises on larger orders, especially for curtains where light has a big impact.
How much fabric do I need for curtains?
It depends on the window width, desired pleat fullness and the pattern repeat. Ask our specialists for a custom calculation — get in touch via our contact page for personal advice on your project.
What is the delivery time for Camengo fabrics?
The current delivery time is shown in real-time on each product page. In-stock fabrics are usually shipped quickly; collection fabrics are ordered from France on demand. For more info see our shipping page.
