Black Edition Cushions
Black Edition cushions come from a British fabric house inside the Romo Group, the family company Robert Mould founded in Nottingham, England, in 1902. That weaving background shows up at sofa scale: a graphic pattern, a deep color, and a surface with enough texture that people reach for it before they look at it.
A Romo Group label aimed at the luxury interior market
The label sits inside the Romo Group and works only for the luxury end of the interior market. It is known for a bold design language: textures that stay refined, weaving techniques that keep moving forward, and a visionary color palette. On a cushion it lands as controlled drama, present in the room but never loud.
Velvet, chenille and jacquard: the weave under the pattern
The house works across a wide register of techniques, from velvet and chenille surfaces to digital print, jacquard weaving and a restrained use of metallic thread. The difference is worth knowing. A jacquard carries its motif in the structure of the cloth, so the drawing shifts as you cross the room, while a printed velvet keeps its line crisp and lets the pile do the work. The same weaves run through the velvet fabrics in our range.
Teal, navy and pink: reading the color range in a US room
The palette keeps to a soft teal, a navy blue at the deep end, and pink kept warm rather than dusty, held in balance by natural shades and metallic nuance. Those tones settle well against the warm grays and off-whites of most American living rooms. For a calmer layer, mix them with plain cushions; for graphic weight, pull from the geometric cushions.
Sizing and layering Black Edition cushions
American sofas run long, so a single accent tends to disappear. On an 8 ft (2.44 m) sectional, five covers in the 18 to 24 in (46 to 61 cm) range build a full seat; on a loveseat, three is enough. Vary size and surface rather than pattern, and keep one plain in the mix so the eye has somewhere to rest.
Matching Black Edition wallpaper and cushions
The motifs are drawn from the same design language as the Black Edition wallpaper, so a seating area can answer the wall without copying it. The Istoria collection is a good place to start. Both labels sit under the Romo Group, so the Romo cushions blend in easily, and several designs ship right away from our in-stock designer cushions.
Judge a color in your own room, by daylight and again after dark, because pile and metal thread behave differently under a lamp than under a window. Plump the covers now and then and keep them clear of long stretches of direct sun. Questions about a design or availability? Write to us and you get a personal answer.
