Collage IV wallpaper by Mark Alexander: woven textures in earth tones

Collage IV wallpaper brings woven and braided textures to your wall, in brown, taupe, sand and grey-blue. The patterns are abstract: you won't see any figures, but rather threads crossing each other, areas that meet and lines cutting across the surface. In the lifestyle images it hangs behind a wooden console table with dried flowers, on sliding doors with dark wooden frames and in a dining room with a white fireplace. The texture comes into its own alongside raw wood, jute and earthenware. Up close you can make out the individual threads; from a distance the wall becomes one warm surface.

Patterns in the Collage IV wallpaper collection

Plait wallpaper is plain and small-scale: a dark brown braided texture with rows of light dots, without a visible motif. Synamay Stitch wallpaper juxtaposes rectangular panels of open, coarse weave in grey-blue and beige, creating a patchwork. On Accent wallpaper, gold-beige lines run diagonally, horizontally and sometimes in an L-shape across taupe panels. Braid Mosaic wallpaper works with blocks in beige and cream, Fusuma wallpaper divides the wall into rectangular sections and Partition wallpaper is built up from vertical strips in brown tones. Evoke wallpaper shows a grid of crossing lines in sand and grey-blue, Riad wallpaper horizontal bands of varying width. In this series by Mark Alexander you'll also find Boheme wallpaper, Levant wallpaper, Quatro wallpaper, Tressage wallpaper, Marelle wallpaper, Motif wallpaper, Kuba wallpaper and Gesture wallpaper.

Choosing Mark Alexander wallpaper for the living room and dining room

If you want a calm background for a cabinet or console table, Plait works well: the dark, plain surface lets furniture and art stand out. Synamay Stitch gives a wall or sliding door more definition through its varying tones. Accent suits a dining room with lots of wood and earthenware, where the gold-beige lines tie in with rattan lamps and old jugs. Your choice of pattern thus determines how much the wall has to say.
