Essentials Luxor wallpaper by Arte: Art Deco geometry with Egyptian motifs

The Essentials Luxor wallpaper by Arte draws its motifs from ancient Egypt and translates them into the clean lines of Art Deco. Pyramids, the course of the Nile and jewellery form the starting point, but on the wall you mainly see geometry. Rectangles, semicircles and curved links fill the surface, tone-on-tone in shades from dusty rose to greyish blue. What binds the patterns is the fine hatching that changes direction per section. This makes the wall appear woven or inlaid with wood. Up close you read lines, from a distance you see shapes.

Patterns in the Essentials Luxor wallpaper collection

Gizeh wallpaper refers to the pyramids and lays interlocking rectangles and squares across the wall, large in scale and in dusty rose-brown. Because the lines run vertically or diagonally per section, the pattern resembles laid parquet. Amulet wallpaper is derived from Art Deco jewellery: vertical strips of curved segments and straight blocks, like the links of a chain, in greyish blue. Horus wallpaper works on a smaller scale, with rows of fan-shaped semicircles in light beige and peach. Benoe wallpaper gives a classic geometric motif a nod to ancient Egypt. Delta wallpaper translates the winding course of the Nile and its delta into a graphic rhythm. Thebe wallpaper is a panorama with palms, pyramids and the flow of the Nile, a landscape in which you see more and more the longer you look.

Combining Arte wallpaper from Essentials Luxor in your interior

The tone-on-tone colours of this Arte wallpaper ask little of the rest of the space. Next to Gizeh, the mood image shows a burgundy velvet armchair and a parquet floor; with Amulet, white bouclé chairs, black tiles and plenty of daylight. Horus is balanced by black glass and a silver lamp. If you're looking for calm with structure, choose one of the geometric patterns. If you want a story on the wall, then Thebe is the statement piece from Essentials Luxor by Arte.
