Kanso wallpaper by Arte: geometry in relief
Kanso wallpaper by Arte is a wall covering in which the pattern is not printed on the wall, but appears to emerge from it. Grooves, seams and rounded edges form geometric figures that you only see properly when the light falls across them. Each pattern is monochrome and has a suede look with a velvet-like sheen. A dark wall therefore appears deep, a light wall soft. In the collection you will find anthracite, cream and burgundy, among others. The relief determines the character, the colour sets the tone.
Patterns in the Kanso wallpaper collection
Shibumi wallpaper is the dynamic design of the series. Irregular triangles and trapezoids are each filled with parallel grooves that run in different directions. This creates a large-scale patchwork of lined surfaces, here in dark anthracite. Yugen wallpaper is calmer. Narrow, vertical rectangles are staggered in rows, like elongated metro tiles with slightly rounded edges, in cream-beige. In Anicca wallpaper, arches overlap in a scale pattern in vertical columns, and within each arch diagonal grooves form a herringbone. The burgundy-purple version shows how precisely that pattern repeats. Iki wallpaper reduces the herringbone to small tiles with diagonal lines, a design with a clear tile rhythm.
Arte wallpaper in bedroom, dining room and study
The mood images show how differently the patterns come across. Behind a bed with lilac linen and ochre-yellow cushions, Shibumi makes the bedroom dark and enveloping. Yugen hangs behind a black-and-white marble table with light grey leather chairs and keeps the dining room light. In a study with a blue oval desk, Anicca colours the walls deep burgundy. With Kanso by Arte on an entire wall, you get texture without loud colours.
