Le Jacquard wallpaper collection Casamance

Le Jacquard wallpaper by Casamance: texture instead of pattern

Le Jacquard wallpaper is all about surface. In this collection by Casamance you won't find flowers, figures or graphic shapes. You'll find a wall that looks as if it has been woven. Fine horizontal lines intermingle irregularly, some slightly lighter, others slightly darker, without you ever spotting a repeat. Up close it resembles grasscloth. From a few metres away the wall reads as one calm surface with depth. This makes the collection suitable for spaces where wood, ceramics and fabric may take centre stage and the wall mainly forms the foundation.

Tatami in the Le Jacquard wallpaper collection

The design in Le Jacquard by Casamance is Tatami wallpaper. This vinyl wallpaper has the appearance of woven fabric. Millimetre-thin stripes of varying length run across the full width of the wall. No pattern emerges that catches your eye. The colour in the main image is grey-beige to taupe, with sand-coloured lines that light up and grey-brown stripes that add shadow. The effect is tonal. Everything remains within one colour family, so the wall radiates calm without looking bare. Precisely because Tatami has no figures or contours, you can extend it over large surfaces, including doors or panels.

Combining Le Jacquard wallpaper with wood and ceramics

The lifestyle photo shows how this works out. Two sliding panels are covered with the same wallpaper and disappear into the wall. Only the wavy dark brown handles give them away. Uprights in walnut and oak tones provide rhythm; a wooden panel with round holes creates an accent. Terracotta vases, a green-glazed side table and cushions in ochre and sage green show that this Casamance wallpaper tolerates plenty of colour around it.
