Little Greene Paint

Little Greene paint brings the richest British colour tradition to your walls — deeply pigmented, durable and available in finishes from ultra-matt to high gloss. Whether you choose a historic shade from the Colours of England range or a fresh modern colour: every nuance behaves exactly as promised on the colour card. Explore the complete collection and order a sample to find your perfect shade.

Little Greene paint reaches American homes from a small factory in Snowdonia, North Wales, where the water-based paints are still largely made by hand, down to the sample pots. On primed drywall the pigment load is high enough that two coats give a full, even finish.

Why Little Greene paint holds its color on a wall

The recipe leans on natural and organic pigments, with a few carefully chosen synthetic ones. That is why a shade like Slaked Lime or Hicks' Blue keeps reading as one color as the light moves through a room. Waste reduction and recycling run as a standing program there.

Choosing a finish from the range, room by room

American floor plans concentrate wear on a few surfaces: an entryway that takes coats and boots all winter, a powder room every guest touches, an open plan kitchen and living space on one wall. The Intelligent range is built for that: water-based and hard-wearing, so scuffs lift off with a damp cloth and the color stays intact. It runs from extra-matte wall paint to eggshell for woodwork and metal, and gloss for frames.

Trim, doors and built-ins

Painted baseboards, casings and cabinetry make the eggshell and gloss finishes matter as much as the walls. Rollers and brushes are in painting supplies.

Where to start in the palette

Colours of England comes out of the brand's own research into three centuries of British decoration, from off-whites through deep earth tones. Colour Scales stacks shades tone on tone by undertone, the fastest route to a scheme that holds across an open floor. Sweet Treats is the warm end, and a short run of RAL colors matches an existing spec.

Paint and wallpaper in one scheme

The colors are matched to the brand's papers, so a ceiling or run of woodwork carries the mood of the wall behind it. European rolls measure 20.9 in (53 cm) across, narrower than the American standard, so count on more strips per wall. Begin with Little Greene wallpaper or its archival side in National Trust Papers.

Test the color first

A color on screen is never the color on your own wall, and a north-facing room reads colder than the same shade on a south wall. Order a sample pot, paint a patch big enough to judge, and check it in daylight and under lamplight.
