Mimbeau wallpaper collection Casamance

Mimbeau wallpaper by Casamance: the coast of Cap Ferret on your wall

With Mimbeau wallpaper you bring the coast around the Bassin d'Arcachon inside. Casamance based the patterns on the landscape in that region: a sandbank that constantly shifts with wind and tide, a jetty with a view over the horizon, an oyster farming village and salt marshes that flood at high tide. You can see this reflected in the colours. Ochre, caramel and cream stand alongside beige and grey-green, shades you also find in sand and water. Most patterns show a woven structure that softly catches the light. This gives depth even to a calm wall.

Patterns in the Mimbeau wallpaper collection

Arguin wallpaper is the most striking pattern. Large blotchy shapes in ochre and caramel on cream, with blurred edges like tie-dye, are divided into square panels that are shifted and rotated. This creates a chessboard in which the shapes break differently each time. Belisaire wallpaper is the opposite: a plain design in beige-greige with a fine horizontal stripe reminiscent of grasscloth. With Canon wallpaper, wavy vertical lines run tone-on-tone over a grey-green background. They form large droplet shapes, a bit like wood grain. Mimbeau wallpaper combines laser-cut wooden appliqués with satin embroidery. Piquey wallpaper has embroidered arches that repeat in an art deco rhythm, and Ares wallpaper places geometric velvet appliqués on a base of linen and cotton.

Combining Casamance wallpaper with wood, stone and glass

The mood images show where this Casamance wallpaper really comes into its own: next to oak, travertine, ceramic and coloured glass. Arguin fills a high wall above wooden panelling and can easily handle an ochre yellow sofa and dark blue corduroy chairs. Belisaire and Canon let furniture and objects take centre stage, handy if you want to highlight a green woven cushion or a marbled stool. Mimbeau by Casamance therefore fits in a restaurant just as well as at home.
