Soleil Levant wallpaper collection Pierre Frey

Soleil Levant wallpaper by Pierre Frey: porcelain, pavilions and flowers

With Soleil Levant wallpaper you bring motifs from Asian art to your wall, from blue and white porcelain to figures strolling through a garden. Pierre Frey depicts these images in great detail and varies the scale per pattern. On one wallpaper, ginger jars, baluster vases and plates are arranged in neat rows. On another, a scene unfolds with pavilions, stairs and a parasol. The background also varies: deep indigo, black or cream. This way, within one collection you can choose between a wall that repeats calmly and a wall that tells a story.

Patterns in the Soleil Levant wallpaper collection

The Qinghua Petit wallpaper arranges ginger jars, bottles and plates with dragons and tendrils in rows, white and blue on indigo, and is accompanied by the Qinghua Grand wallpaper. On the Au Palais Grand wallpaper, figures in Chinese robes move between pavilions and balustrades on black, while the Au Palais Petit wallpaper follows the landscape of an antique screen. The Hana wallpaper fills a cream background with peony-like flowers and a red meander line. The Conte Merveilleux wallpaper shows scenes from Japanese life on a metallic background. The Les Eventails wallpaper features bold brushstrokes forming fans, and the Suki wallpaper reads like an abstract labyrinth seen from above. Also part of Soleil Levant by Pierre Frey are the Fuji wallpaper, Ichika wallpaper, Hogara wallpaper, Belle Lune wallpaper, Akimasa wallpaper, Kaori wallpaper and Les Fleurs de Cerisiers wallpaper. The same goes for the Tottori wallpaper, Ukiyoe wallpaper, Kawachi wallpaper, Kasuri wallpaper and Azuma wallpaper.

Combining Soleil Levant wallpaper with lacquer, wood and porcelain

In the photos you can see how each pattern works with its surroundings. Above white lacquered panelling with grey-blue panels, the porcelain rows of Qinghua Petit gain a calm base. Au Palais Grand forms a vertical strip between red lacquered panels, with a dark Chinese armchair and a black ginger jar in front of it. Hana frames an ornate wooden doorway, flanked by orange-red vases. With furniture and objects you determine which colour from this Pierre Frey wallpaper stands out most.
