Tessura wallpaper collection Masureel

Tessura wallpaper by Masureel: woven structures and a painted panorama

Tessura wallpaper by Masureel is all about the wall as fabric. In this collection the structure always runs horizontally, as if threads have been stretched across the wall. Some of the patterns are plain and let only the structure and colour speak. Palmira features a complete painted scene. In the images you can see how grazing light makes the fine lines visible: shadows of palm leaves slide diagonally across an ochre-coloured wall. This gives you a wall you want to look at up close and that remains calm from a distance.

Patterns in the Tessura wallpaper collection

Mori wallpaper and Tafta wallpaper show how different a plain structure can look. Mori is warm beige to ochre, Tafta deep indigo with irregular slubs that are slightly darker. Palmira wallpaper fills the entire wall with a painted tree with a twisted trunk, feathery leaves, hanging white flower clusters and small birds, in off-white, taupe and greyish brown on a linen-like background. Suber wallpaper shows an organic pattern with a texture like weathered stone. Trama wallpaper and the namesake pattern Tessura wallpaper work with a relief that references woven fabric, Crush wallpaper with a structure like pressed textile. Boro wallpaper is inspired by the Japanese Boro tradition, with small irregularities and a hand-woven feel. Bogolan wallpaper, Arazzo wallpaper and Calce wallpaper complete the range.

Combining Masureel wallpaper with wood, leather and metal

The images show what these walls go well with. Against Mori stands a walnut chair with black metal, against the indigo of Tafta a black oval table with dark ceramic. With Palmira you see cognac leather and dark wood. Wood in warm tones brings out the structure, black details give the wall a sharp edge. If you choose Tessura by Masureel in a plain finish, the furniture can take centre stage. With Palmira the wall itself is the focal point.
