Traditioner wallpaper by Sandberg: hand-drawn patterns on cream

Traditioner wallpaper is all about small, hand-drawn motifs repeated over and over on a cream-coloured background. In this collection, Sandberg works with one or two muted colours per pattern: light blue with dark brown, brown-aubergine and grey-green. You'll see little checks, leaves, four-petalled flowers and twisted rope, each with a visibly drawn quality. Two patterns build up the wall in vertical bands, while one scatters its motif evenly across the surface. This lets you choose between vertical rhythm and a calm, continuous grid. In the photos, the wallpaper hangs in a bedroom, a hallway and a living room.

Three patterns in the Traditioner wallpaper collection

Austine wallpaper features narrow vertical bands of light blue checks and leaves, bordered by thin lines. Between the bands are rows of scattered dark brown dots, which give the design an airy feel. In the bedroom pictured, it sits beside a striped headboard and blue cushions. Elise wallpaper lets go of the stripe: small four-petalled flowers in brown-aubergine are set in a diagonal grid across the entire wall. Each petal shifts from a dark centre to a lighter edge, like a brushstroke of watercolour. Next to a dusty pink window frame, that warm shade really comes into its own. Emilion wallpaper has a larger scale than the other two. A grey-green twisted rope winds upwards in loops, with a small flower in each loop and a thin line between the bands. The hatching gives the rope depth.

Combining Traditioner by Sandberg in your interior

Because all three share the same cream background, you can easily combine them in adjoining rooms. Hang Elise in the hallway and Emilion in the living room, and the Traditioner wallpaper feels like one continuous story. This Sandberg wallpaper works well alongside antique furniture, framed prints and striped or floral fabrics, as the photos show. Want more movement? Choose a vertical pattern. Looking for calm? Then the scattered pattern is a better fit.
