Washable wallpaper

Washable wallpaper has a closed top layer, usually vinyl, that dirt and grease do not soak into. You wipe away a splash or a fingerprint with a damp cloth and mild soapy water. That makes it a practical choice for the kitchen, the hallway, the stairwell and the kids' room: places where a wall has more to put up with.

Washable wallpaper in the kitchen

In the kitchen, a wall needs wallpaper you can clean. For an eat-in kitchen and the wall around the dining table, choose a washable wallpaper with a vinyl top layer. Directly behind the stove or the sink, we recommend a glass backsplash or a waterproof system; washable wallpaper is not made for that spot either. Washable, scrubbable or wipeable wallpaper: the difference

Manufacturers state on the label how the wallpaper may be cleaned. Wipeable means you carefully wipe it with a slightly damp cloth. Washable wallpaper can handle a damp cloth or sponge with mild soapy water. Scrubbable wallpaper can even take a soft brush. Washable designer wallpaper by brand

Hanging and caring for washable wallpaper

You hang washable vinyl wallpaper like any other wallpaper; follow the adhesive advice given with the product. Clean it with lukewarm water, a soft cloth and a mild detergent, and do not use scouring pads or harsh cleaners.
