Water Garden wallpaper collection Sanderson

Water Garden wallpaper by Sanderson: koi, lotus and butterflies

The Water Garden wallpaper brings the pond and the garden around it to your wall. In this collection by Sanderson you'll find koi carp, lotus leaves, frogs, birds and flowering branches, with clear influences from Chinese decorative art and Art Deco. In the colourways shown, ochre yellow, olive and cream recur against a light green background, allowing the patterns to work well together. Where they differ is in their structure: strictly mirrored, densely floral or spacious and painterly. This way you can choose, within one colour palette, the rhythm that suits your room.

Patterns in the Water Garden wallpaper collection

In Voyaging Koi wallpaper, mirrored carp form vase-shaped figures in a strict grid, with finely drawn scales that shimmer with mica. Amara Butterfly wallpaper is densely covered with stylised flowers and dark green butterflies, inspired by Chinese embroidery. Large, curling leaves in watercolour style stand on long stems in Lotus Leaf wallpaper. Parakeets sit on branches among spring blossoms in Chinoiserie Hall wallpaper, while Crane & Frog wallpaper shows an English water garden with ducks, frogs, koi carp and roses. Emperor Peony wallpaper combines large peonies with tropical butterflies. Striped bamboo, hydrangea and wisteria fill Bamboo & Birds wallpaper, together with exotic birds. Penjing wallpaper features miniature bonsai in decorative pots, and the eponymous Water Garden wallpaper completes the series.

Choosing between the patterns of Water Garden by Sanderson

In the kitchen photos, this Sanderson wallpaper is shown behind a dark kitchen island with white marble and a rattan stool. You can see how well the warm ochre and green work with wood and black metal. If you're looking for calm, the ordered grid of the koi works beautifully. If you want a wall that's completely filled, choose Amara. Lotus Leaf, with its open background, gives a room breathing space.
